Biography

Award winning fine artist, Gayathri Rajamani, from India, lives with her family in Marietta, GA, USA. Sketching and painting were her hobbies since her childhood. She has been self-taught for the most part and was inspired from watching the master's.

She paints what she sees, that connects with her soul and brings out the emotions untold to the world. Initially she was tutored by Chris Di Dimizio in classical realism, on graphite, charcoal and oil painting. She realized that painting was not only meditative and therapeutic but also really enjoyed the journey. During this time, she started to practice more and painted more seriously in classical realism. She processed the scene as a whole and broke down into shapes and elements of painting. She also learnt by reading books and watching the works of renowned artists. Her other favorite mediums are charcoal, oil and watercolor. She has taken workshops from Manjushree Roy, Nishikant Palande, Suchitra Bhosle, T J Cunnigham, and Daniel Gerhartz. She has also been an art teacher for many years, for both kids and adults. She has often been inspired by painters like Sargent, Richard Schmidt, Daniel Gerhartz, Steve Putrich, Cesar Santos, and Suchitra Bhosle. Her favorite subjects are portraits, still life, wildlife, florals, and landscapes. She is a member of Roswell Fine Arts Alliance, Dunwoody Fine Art Alliance, and exhibiting at Tranquility Fine Arts gallery. She has also been doing portrait commissions. She is a member of the Booth Arts Guild and her paintings are on display at their gallery.
